RADCOM is a private fully owned Romanian company, providing complete IT&C solutions for Telecom Operators, Government, Transport and other industries.

RADCOM was founded in 1993, as a telecommunication company, part of Computerland Romania, an important group of Romanian companies. Starting as a small company, RADCOM now number more than 500 employees.

In terms of global expertise, RADCOM is a provider of different types of middle-ware platforms for the Telecom operators, such as:

  • Turnkey projects for wired and wireless telecommunication networks deployment;
  • Telematics and Embedded Solutions - RadFleet Management System;
  • Intelligent Network Solutions including Smartcall Platform, Tempus Platform, SMS Assistant Service, USSD Platform;
  • Value Added Services & Platforms including Mobile Video Platform, Orange World Service, Mobile Portal, SMS/MMS InfoServices;
  • WEB Solutions including WebCare & WebShop Solution, Single Sign On Platform, Blog Service, Look at Me Service;
  • Call Centers Solutions;
  • Interactive Voice Response Solutions (IVR).

RADCOM started with Computerland Romania and a hand of telecom professionals, trade and distribution of high class radio equipments being our first challenge along with maintenance and warranty services.

In the next years RADCOM developed new services for repeaters and trunked radio systems; we also provided and repaired mobile phones (NMT for the start and then continuing with GSM).

During 1997 – 1999 RADCOM founded a Commercial GSM Division, R&D Division, Digital Network Division and After Sales Service Division. RADCOM signed its first major agreement with ORANGE Romania (former MOBILROM) according to which RADCOM is responsible with ORANGE services and products selling, being also a national service and repair network. RADCOM became also the subcontractor for both "ALCATEL" and "MOTOROLA" for installation of base station and microwave equipment. For this last mentioned services, RADCOM obtained a certification for ISO 9001 quality standard since 1998.

During 2000 - 2005 RADCOM:

  • Started an AVI project for METROREX Romania in cooperation with "DIMETRONIC" Spain,
  • Installed and commissioned equipments for over 300 sites for "COSMOROM" and more than 600 sites for "MOBILROM",
  • Concluded an important agreement with "RAT Ploiesti" for public urban transportation monitoring system,
  • Settled another agreement with "ORANGE Romania" for R&D Division;
  • Achieved new contracts within local public transportation area with: "RATUC Cluj Napoca" and "CTP Arad";
  • Achieved through network division new partnerships and projects, such as "TRANSELECTRICA SA" fixed national network, "TELEMOBIL" NEC MW links, "COSMOTE" civil works, more than 1600 major sites for "ORANGE Romania", etc.

2006 represents a reference year for RADCOM:

  • "FRANCE TELECOM Group" nominated RADCOM as an agreed supplier for ORANGE Romania IT Services;
  • RADCOM gained, after a tender process, the video services aggregation for "ORANGE Romania" Portal.
  • RADCOM` network division started a new civil works deployment process for "ORANGE Romania", building new outdoor UMTS sites, in Bucharest and in other cities in Romania.
  • We signed also a contract for WiMax technology with "ORANGE Romania".

The following years, RADCOM became a major player on telecom market due to:

  • Its partnerships, its references, by achieving more and more contracts with public transportation companies from Bacau, Timisoara, Brasov, Oradea,
  • We also opened one subsidiary in Moldova Republic due to the fact that ORANGE Moldova selected us as a content and technical aggregator for video and non-video services,
  • We implemented SCADA system at "RA ANIF Brasov" and an automatic observing system (AWOS) at "ROMATSA",
  • We concluded a Partnership Agreement with "ORANGE Romania";
  • We also signed Personalized Numbers Services Agreement for "FRANCE Telecom" for five countries from AMEA Region, first one being Jordan;
  • The expantion in the region RADCOM founded a branch in Bulgaria for developing and supporting telecom infrastructure activities;
  • We achieved more ISO certificates: ISO 14001 and ISO 18001.

Presently, RADCOM continues to grow through its technologies, expertise and commitment to its clients, with customer orientation, all together combined managing to compete with major telecom companies in the market.
